A run from the bottom to the top of Ireland

My Ireland Run is something i’ve been thinking about for a couple of years. We all know I love to run, and since I have never been to Ireland, I thought it made perfect sense!

This run is not about being the first (I’m not) the fastest (I won’t be) or covering the most distance (not interested). What it is about though, is, self discovery.

We all have our own ways of practising self development, and for me, one way is to run, and run far!
I’m treating this adventure as an opportunity  to be alone, just me, my thoughts, and the open road.

Over the past few years I’ve done some massive adventures like The Ultimate Triathlon, and the 500 Man.
These were amazing experiences, but took a lot of work to create, organise, and then with a crew and documentary maker following me around, it goes against one of the main reasons I love endurance sports; the solidarity!

My Ireland Run is pretty simple, run from Mizen Head in the south solo and self supported for 9 days, until I get to Malin Head. I have a predetermined finish point each day, will refuel along the way from towns and villages I pass through, and sleep wherever my body decides to lay each night.

This is it, this is My Ireland Run.

In Short
– Mizen Head to Malin Head
– 660 Kilometres
– 9 Days
– Solo and Self-Supported (for the first 7 days, then my wife and friends will me join for the final 2 days)
