Running 500 Miles in 31 Days

Running The Calendar Club

Running 1 mile relating to the date of the month.

Running for 31 consecutive days is something I have never done before. So taking on a challenge like this meant going outside my comfort zone within the world of running.

The Calendar Club is a simple concept, but brutal to execute. Running one mile in relation to the date. One mile on the 1st, two miles on the 2nd, then continuing this pattern until you run 31 miles on the 31st.
That’s 496 miles (798kms) of running in 31 days. The mind blowing thing is this, the final seven days of the month means 195 miles (314kms) of running in just one week.
My previous toughest week of running was 155 miles (250kms) through the Sahara desert during the Marathon des Sables, which was one of my favourite adventures.

When pushing past your previous limits, you have an opportunity to learn many valuable life lessons. This running challenge did just that, it taught me several things i’ll use not only in my running career, but also in life!

Enjoy my #31in31ForYou challenge.
