Luke Learns to Surf

As an Australian, it’s just assumed that I can surf, all Aussies can surf surely!? But what if you grew up in a country town four hours from the nearest beach, with the closest thing you got to “hanging ten” was when your dad jumped in the swimming pool and created waves. Well that’s me, I’m an Aussie, living in London who couldn’t surf, but this was all going to change. With a little help from Escape Surf School in Newquay I would finally Learn to Surf, I will be riding the waves, catching barrels, and doing some awesome tricks, well maybe I will start with simply trying to stand up.

This would be a great place to start, (simply trying to stand up) as I travelled down to Newquay in a slightly unconventional way, riding my bike there. London to Newquay is approximately 400 kilometres (250 miles), and I will be cycling this distance in a single day, then having a well earned rest at the lovely Belushi’s in Newquay for the night, before tackling the waves the following morning.
